In Office Ultrasound

Among our array of diagnostic tools, Monarch Healthcare offers state-of-the-art in office ultrasound to our patients. This gives us the ability to take care of all your needs on site including better effectiveness and time management. Our services include obstetrical, gynecological, breast, and thyroid ultrasounds, among many other options.

Obstetrical ultrasound is a non-invasive test that is painless and completely safe, and will give you your first look at your developing baby.  It will first be used to confirm the pregnancy and your baby’s position, as well as to determine the expected delivery date. During subsequent exams we can use it to determine your baby’s sex and follow its growth rate. In addition, it will help our doctors evaluate whether the placenta is developing properly and its location, and identify any possible fetal abnormalities.

Usually, three separate ultrasounds are scheduled: dating ultrasound, first-trimester screening, and second-trimester detailed anatomic screening. Ultrasound exams are recommended between six and twelve weeks of pregnancy.  The first-trimester screening may be scheduled close to ten weeks. The second trimester detailed anatomic screening is usually between weeks eighteen and twenty-two, and it will give our doctors the chance to examine some of your baby’s newly developed organs, including its heart and stomach.

Gynecological ultrasound will help examine your uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes for any abnormalities. It usually requires that you arrive with a full bladder, except late in your pregnancy, and takes less than 30 minutes.
