Today is Family Health & Fitness Day. The purpose of this day is to promote family involvement in physical activity.

Here are some fun ideas to keep your family moving:

  1. Take Active Vacations like hiking, skiing or hill walking.
  2. Family bike riding.
  3. Play outdoor sports together such as basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, touch football etc.
  4. Play your favorite music and dance together.
  5. Do the gardening together.
  6. Take the whole family out for an after-dinner walk around the neighborhood or park.
  7. Play Golf together.

Increasing physical activity benefits in lots of many ways, it improves cardiovascular fitness, helps prevent obesity, boosts self-esteem and confidence, and reduces stress.
